Kealee & The Mucks...

Kealee had a lot of fun this weekend with her cousins. Jordan and Christian (Shana's sister Ticia's kids) flew in from Colorado to see her. Aunt Ticia thought she was pretty cute, too.

Here are a couple of pictures of Kealee and two other cousins - Gracie and Little Jimmy (Shana's brother Jimmy and his wife Lori's kids).

Next stop next weekend - Smithville! Her cousins Brady and Conner haven't seen her in a while and Aunt Suzi is getting pretty upset, I'll bet.

January 20...

You would think I would have made more posts since Monday.

We didn't have school Tuesday due to ice.

We didn't have school Wednesday due to bad country roads. Kealee's one-month checkup was that morning and the highways were fine. We went to Liberty and Dr. Rinker checked her all out. She weighs 10 lbs 9 oz. now. She's at the 90th percentile in all 3 categories (head circumference, height, and weight). Dr. Rinker thought she felt a "click" on her right hip. That could mean hip dysplasia so she referred us on to Children's Mercy.

We went there on Thursday morning (no school again) and Dr. Olney didn't feel it click. He said even if it clicked, that is pretty normal - it's a "clunk" that he would worry about. We made a follow up appt for April 3rd to get an x-ray on her hip (baby's hips are mostly cartilage until 3 months or so - an ultrasound would've worked but he didn't feel that was necessary either). He thought she seemed just fine.

Friday we did have school. It was a rough week.

;-)

MLK Day...

No school today (snow and ice, too) so Shana decided to play dress up with Kealee.

Here's a picture with her new Old Navy jeans, her shoes her Nanny got her, and the sweater that our CMS Secretary Jeannette Johnson made for her.

She's styling!!!

Long week...

I haven't seen much of her this week. Varsity basketball trips to Kearney on Monday and Wednesday and JV trips to Benton on Tuesday and again tonight.

She visited the Hardies last night. I guess Joe and Laurie are preparing in case they get to be grandparents in the next few years...

She's planning on meeting her babysitter today. Becky Wallace will watch her when Shana goes back to work next month. Becky's husband Dale is our Superintendent here in Chillicothe. Becky watches one other child right now and they are neighbors of some friends of ours - John and Cyndi DeBey. Both the DeBeys and the Wallaces are very nice people. I know Kealee will be in good hands with Becky.

Happy Birthday Grandpa French

Kealee wanted me to wish her Grandpa French a Happy Birthday today.

Napping in the crib...

Here's a welcome site - Kealee is in her crib.

Why is that welcome? I have heard horror stories of 2-year olds that still sleep with their parents.

Kealee took her first trip to a restaurant (Applebee's) today and ate dinner after lunch with us and her Nanny and PaPa. She had the sirloin - medium well, baked potato, and an iced tea.

She also had her first experience with the Highway Patrol. They pulled us over on 36 Highway thinking our window tinting was too dark (it wasn't, it was the 3rd time - no tickets). I'm glad Kealee didn't throw her pacifier at the nice man...

Visitors...

On Wednesday, Kealee had her Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Hammond come over to see her. They spent the morning and afternoon with her while Shana took down the Christmas decorations.

On Thursday her Grandma and Grandpa French drove up to see her and spent the morning and afternoon with her.

On Friday, she went to see her Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Muck.

Friday evening her Nanny and PaPa came over to see her, too.

It's a shame no one likes this kid.

I need to get some new pictures out there but I won't right now. She just went down for a long nap and I am walking on eggshells to keep her asleep.

She was up to 9 lbs for her 3-week "weigh in" which means she is eating well. She gained 7 oz in a week. If she keep gaining an ounce a day, she'll catch me at age 10 1/2! I hope she isn't 240 when she's in the 5th or 6th grade because I doubt we could afford to feed both of us and I know which one Shana will choose to feed...it's not me.
